Preschool Programs (3-5 Years)
Play-based groups building confidence, connection, and school readiness.
Three to five is a massive developmental leap. Children are learning to manage big feelings, navigate tricky friendships, and prepare for the new structures of kindergarten and school.
At Play Move Improve, we know that children learn best when they feel safe and having fun. Our small, supportive groups are designed to help them practise vital social, emotional, and physical skills in a pressure-free environment, guided by qualified educators and therapists.
You do not need an NDIS plan to join these groups. However we do accept NDIS funding (we match the format of the program to suit your child's NDIS goals.
All children are welcome.
Weekly Term Programs
Our term-based groups run weekly for 8-10 weeks, allowing children to build consistent relationships and consolidate skills.
Option 1: Little Movers
Best for: Children into 3 to 4-year-old kinder who need a boost in physical confidence and focus.
School readiness isn't just about knowing ABCs; it's about having the core strength to sit at mat time, the coordination to hold a pencil, and the ability to follow multi-step instructions. We tackle these skills through active movement games and structured activities.
-
Key Focus Areas: Core strength for sitting posture, fine motor foundations for writing, listening skills, and following instructions.
-

Option 2: The "Play & Connect" Social Group
Best for: Children who struggle to share, take turns, manage big emotions during play, or join in with peers.
More than just parallel play, this group actively scaffolds social interaction. We use cooperative games, Lego, and role-play to teach the "hidden rules" of friendship, helping children understand perspectives other than their own (theory of mind).
-
Key Focus Areas: Turn-taking, negotiating roles in play, managing frustration when losing, and recognising emotions in others.

Option 3: Fine Motor Fun for Preschoolers
Best for: Children who avoid drawing/craft, struggle with buttons and zips, or need to build hand strength for school.
Get those little hands ready for writing! This group focuses on the foundational strength and dexterity needed for the classroom. We ditch the boring worksheets and use tongs, threading, therapy putty, and exciting games to build the muscles required for pencil grip and self-care independence.
-
Key Focus Areas: Pincer grip, hand-eye coordination, finger isolation, and scissor skills.
-
Location: 7 Meadowgate Drive, Chirnside Park

Option 4: Regulation School Readiness Story Time
Best for: Children who find "mat time" difficult, struggle to sit still and listen, or get overwhelmed in group settings.
School isn't just about ABCs; it's about being able to regulate your body in a group. In this program, we use interactive storytelling to teach children how to "switch on" their listening ears and manage their wiggles. It’s the perfect bridge between home/kinder play and the structure of a school classroom.
-
Key Focus Areas: Mat time stamina, auditory processing (listening), waiting for a turn, and emotional regulation strategies.
