Primary School Programs (5-12 Years)

Building confidence, friendships, and skills for the classroom.

Primary school brings a whole new set of challenges: navigating complex playground politics, managing the sensory overload of a busy classroom, and keeping up with handwriting demands.

Our primary school programs are designed to be a "soft landing" where children can build these essential skills without the pressure of the classroom. whether they need help with handwriting fatigue, making friends, or just managing the exhaustion of the school week.

You do not need an NDIS plan to join these groups. All children are welcome.

Option 1: The Wednesday Prep Program (6-Session Block)

Best for: Prep (Foundation) students who are finding the full school week exhausting or need extra support settling into school life.

The transition to Prep is huge. This intensive 6-session block is designed to support children through that fatigue. We focus on emotional regulation, stamina, and social skills in a smaller, quieter environment than a classroom. It’s the perfect mid-week reset to help them thrive.

  • Format: 2-hour sessions (6-week block)

  • Focus: School stamina, emotional regulation, and social confidence.

  • Location: 7 Meadowgate Drive, Chirnside Park

Option 2: Fine Motor Fun for Primary School

Best for: Children who complain of sore hands when writing, have messy handwriting, struggle with shoelaces, or avoid craft activities.

We take the "work" out of handwriting practice. Using therapy putty, LEGO challenges, and dexterity games, we build the hand and finger strength required for endurance in the classroom. This is vital for children who know what they want to write but struggle to get it onto the paper.

  • Format: 1-hour session

  • Focus: Pencil grip, hand strength, cutting skills, and shoelace tying.

  • Location: 7 Meadowgate Drive, Chirnside Park

Option 3: Play & Connect for Primary School

Best for: Children who struggle to make or keep friends, find it hard to lose games, or misinterpret social cues in the playground.

The rules of friendship change in primary school. In this group, we use collaborative games and construction projects to practice the "hidden curriculum" of socialising. We practice negotiating, compromising, reading body language, and handling disappointment when things don't go to plan.

  • Format: 1-hour session

  • Focus: Theory of mind, resilience, turn-taking, and conversation skills.

  • Location: 7 Meadowgate Drive, Chirnside Park
